1. Scope
This Notice covers cookies and similar browser or server-side identifiers used by BagTag. A cookie is a small value stored or sent by a browser. Some functions cannot safely work without essential cookies.
2. Essential cookies
Essential cookies are used because they are necessary to provide the requested service and cannot be disabled through BagTag settings without breaking the affected flow.
- Authentication and session cookies: keep authorized staff signed in and prevent session misuse; they expire with the session or when signed out.
- Verification and workflow cookies: bind a short-lived claim, privacy, authorization, application, or redemption step to the browser where used.
- Security and preference cookies: preserve protective state, user choices, and interface preferences.
3. Aggregate measurement
Eligible public league, QR, and reward pages may receive a random first-party anonymous-session cookie lasting up to one year. It supports sponsor rotation, deduplication, and aggregate page/program measurement. It is not a login and does not contain a name, email, or player identifier. Raw events are access-controlled, aggregated for reporting, and subject to retention review.
4. External destinations
An approved sponsor link passes through a safe BagTag redirect before opening the sponsor's site. The redirect includes a destination-scoped pseudonym used for aggregate attribution. It is different for each destination and does not disclose the BagTag first-party identifier, a name, email, claim, or player identifier. BagTag discards request-controlled query parameters instead of forwarding them to the sponsor. The external site may set its own cookies under its own notice. BagTag does not authorize an external site to treat claim or player information as a sponsor lead.
5. What BagTag does not use
- No third-party advertising pixel is built into BagTag pages.
- No cross-site behavioral advertising profile is created from a family claim.
- No sponsor receives a claim email through cookies or analytics.
- No child account or location-tracking cookie is used.
6. Controls
You can delete or block cookies in browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in, verification, or redemption. Where consent or opt-out is legally required for nonessential measurement, BagTag will honor the available preference control and applicable browser signals. You can also submit a privacy request.
7. Inventory changes
The operator must update this inventory before introducing a new analytics, advertising, chat, or embedded-media provider. A material change may require a new consent choice.
